Colorful Ocean Creatures Swap at City O Clay

This is the post at City O Clay announcing the next swap. In case you do not know already it is a yahoo group focused on clay where I host the swaps that run every two months. You do have to be a member of the group to participate in the swaps. Astrid a wonderful member there helped with the last part of the links I hope you do not mind I left her post at the end.

You guys did it. You chose what we would be making for the next swap.

And the winner is Colorful Ocean Creatures!

This is a great chance for you to do what your muse is guiding you to create. This is a chance for you to really take a chance and create something that is one of a kind and you!

You can choose what you make. It can be beads, a cane, a pin, a whatchafrazen whatever it is that your muse is telling you to create.

You must make sure that your creation fits into a small priority box and gets to me by the due date of October 1 2011 with a mail date of Oct 15. Those are the only two stipulations for this swap. Sound like fun? Sign up at

In gathering links for this swap I wanted to inspire you with colorful ocean creatures and this is a great way to do that.

http://www.google.com/search?q=colorful+oceanic+creatures&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=582&prmd=ivns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=uZEsTuujO8rq0gGCtLDkDg&ved=0CDoQsAQ

If the link does not work then just go to your favorite search engine and type in colorful ocean creatures and voila. It was hard finding links of things for you to make with tutorials and that is why this is really an inspirational swap. Muse get over here we have some work to do!

Since it is hard to find clay related Ocean Creatures I looked at tons of pictures of what lives in and around the oceans.
Besides the fantasy ones like mermaids and mermen, I’m thinking about Manatees,
Sea Otters, all sort of seals, sea turtles, all things in and out of
the ocean, different shells and conches, Starfish, mollusks and
crustaceans (crab, lobster etc), ocean fauna like anemone, seagrass
(and sea cows), the octopus, different sharks (there you go, Luny!
LOL), colorful fish like the Butterfly Fish, Dragonets, Rock fish,
Lion Fish, Tangs, Angelfish (juveniles with their “brain-cane”
pattern and the colorful adults) etc.

I’m going to the library
tomorrow and get me some books on the many colorful fishies 🙂

Hope
this helped some 🙂

*Hugs*
Astrid
